AC Schnitzer ’perfects’ the current BMW X5

Better looks and more features for the large Bavarian SUV.

AC Schnitzer is a well-known name in the BMW universe (and not only there) when it comes to vehicle customization. Now, the coach has taken charge of the facelift of the BMW X5 (G05 series).

And not only has it given it a significantly sharper look, but it also claims to have given it greater dynamism with increased performance and a modified suspension.

The philosophy of the BMW X5 (and, of course, its ’brother’, the X6) is characterized by driving comfort, a sporty exterior and attractive performance. As you well know, xDrive all-wheel drive is included as standard in the entire X5 range, being able to choose between engines with 6 or 8 cylinders, in addition to the hybrid variants. AC Schnitzer now guarantees improvements with targeted interventions.

The performance increase of AC Schnitzer is not limited to increasing power, but mainly optimizes engine torque, which is important for a dynamic driving experience.

The power of the X5 40d can be increased from the standard 352 HP to 382. The engine torque is increased by 60 Nm to reach 780 Nm. Likewise, the 50e plug-in hybrid reaches 551 HP instead of 489 after AC Schnitzer’s performance improvement. At 800 Nm, the torque is exactly 100 Nm higher than the standard version.

AC Schnitzer also has more improvements in store. The trainer has developed a complete set-up kit, which includes all the most significant components. This affects elements for the suspension, the rear spoiler and other specific parts.

The suspension spring kits are adapted to the vehicle and guarantee better behavior when cornering. A wheel spacer also improves road feel.

On the other hand, the exclusive AC5 ’flow-forming’ wheels in a two-tone or high-gloss black finish, available in 22 inches, are the ideal complement.

The new components optimize downforce values. One of the most notable is the front splitter assembly, which consists of elements such as the front spoiler, center bar, front overhang, and the splitter itself. The package also includes a rear roof spoiler and a set of side skirts.

The interior of the X5 has also been upgraded with unique shift paddles and aluminum pedals, which aim to create a racing atmosphere as soon as the driver steps on the accelerator pedal.
